Tenacre Country Day School
Tenacre is an independent elementary school from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6
A rite of passage on the last day of school: students getting the Tenacre Termly, the school yearbook! Sixth graders love getting their first look at the Termly, which includes a personal page designed by each sixth graders.
A surprise six years in the making. Today, our sixth graders opened time capsules they made as PK students — complete with handprints, tiny foot tracings, first-day-of-school photos, and Halloween costume memories. The laughter and big smiles said it all.
The world came to Tenacre when fourth graders unveiled their Country Study projects at the Country Bazaar, presenting their projects to members of the Tenacre community. Students showcased their clay maps, travel videos, and research into cultures across five continents. The result was an impressive showcase of curiosity, creativity, and scholarship.
Tissue paper. Glue. String. Copper rings. And then — liftoff. 🎈 Fifth graders launched their hot air balloons on Centennial Field this morning in one of Tenacre’s most beloved traditions. Science has never looked so magical.
Tenacre’s Fifth Grade Variety Show did NOT disappoint. From beautiful vocals and impressive piano performances to a record-breaking Rubik’s cube solve and some seriously funny clowning around — our fifth graders brought the house down this morning. Tenacre is full of talent!

Meet the heart of Tenacre! 💚 Our Staff Spotlight series shines a light on the incredible people who make our school special. Every other week, we celebrate the educators, mentors, and staff who inspire our students every day. Meet the amazing individuals behind the magic! ✨
Move over — there’s a new Head of School in town. One of our first graders won the top prize at the Tenacre Fair and spent the day running the place — greeting students, meeting with admissions, delivering lunch trays, making announcements, and calling dismissal. No big deal. 😄
For the past two weeks, during P.E. class, all first- and second-graders have been participating in the annual bike-riding unit. First graders learn to ride a two-wheeler, while second graders learn more advanced riding and safety techniques, such as riding on grass or up hills. Parents dropped off bikes, and Tenacre provided additional bikes to use.
