CPSC Warns Consumers to Stop Using “Relaxing Baby” Swim Floats Immediately Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Drowning; One Child Death Reported

The “Relaxing Baby” Swim Floats can flip over and/or submerge the occupant underwater, posing a risk of drowning to infants and toddlers.

CPSC is aware of a drowning death of a two-year-old child who was using the hazardous floats.

Wu He/Relaxing Baby, of China, the seller, has been unresponsive to CPSC requests for a recall.

CPSC urges consumers to puncture the plastic in any location where the product can inflate and dispose of the swim float immediately. Do not sell or give away these hazardous swim floats.

More Advice I’d Give You as a Pediatrician About Viral Season (If I Wasn’t Afraid to Hurt Your Feelings) 1. Stop buying every supplement on the internet….. many are harmless but overrated and not regulated….. Sleep, nutrition, and hydration do more than any gummy ever will. 2. Green snot doesn’t mean it’s bacterial. Colorful mucus is just your immune system cleaning house not a reason for antibiotics. 3. If your child doesn’t eat much when they’re sick that’s okay. Fluids matter more, Don’t force feed. Let them drink, eat what they can tolerate, and rest. 4. Humidifier can be helpful but are also disgusting. Clean it please 5. Stop comparing your child’s illness to your neighbor’s. Every immune system is different. Every child is different. Some bounce back fast, others need time. It’s not a competition. 6. If you’re sick, stay away from newborns. Yes, even if “it’s just a cold.” Newborns don’t have the immune backup you do. 7. Stop asking for a “stronger” medicine. There’s no magic fix for viral illnesses. The “strongest” treatment is time, rest, and care. 8. Nasal Irrigation may look disgusting, but it could be extremely beneficial. Make sure to do it appropriately, do not use tapwater use distilled water. 9. Products promising to boost your immune system are truthfully only boosting their wallet. If you want to support your immune system, get adequate sleep and adequate nutrition, and adequate exercise. 10. Wearing a mask should not be controversial. If you are sick and going out in the public, it makes sense to protect others, if you to decrease your risk of getting sick around other sick people it makes sense, if you are around people who may be immunocompromised, it makes sense. Quit judging people for wanting to protect others and themselves.
