When we returned to Dallas, we moved to a community with a performative recycling program ππ. Thankfully, we discovered Recycle Revolution and their community recycling program. Each week or so, we drop off our recyclables FREE of charge! There is a small fee for dropping off styrofoam, e-waste (devices, electric toothbrushes, etc), soft plastic bags and compost... but it's worth every cent!
Sometimes we see the chickens roaming the property. Other times we learn about ways to reduce our environmental impact (thanks for all the recommendations, Jessica). And every time, my children learn how their actions impact our planet and the quality of life of generations to come.
We've spent part of our spring break learning about creatures in our own community as part of Urban Wildlife camp πΏπ’π¦π±
Here are my children on day one dissecting owl pellets and identifying the owl's preyπ¦
I'll share more about our week soon!
Yesterday was Homeschool Day at the Dallas Zoo. We participated in hands-on activities, learning about proprioception & balance, bird migratory patterns and earth conservation efforts. Our favorite activity was helping to restore the Cedar Creek by collecting trash that can harm the wildlife. We found lots of plastic bags, cans, unidentified metal, broken glass and a bouncy ball.
We plan to continue our restoration efforts in other areas around the city... and hopefully this enthusiasm will carry over to my children's bedroom ππΎ ... they said they now "need" grabbers at home π€¦πΎββοΈπ
We always find great books at our local library. Here are some of our recent pics...
What are you and your littles current reading?
Thank you 2021 for the lessons and memories!

We're relaunching yaraimani.com, but this time, it's for Yara's vision β
Yara has transformed her love of buttons into her new business. She makes solar system buttons, abstract ones, seasonal ones, custom ones and more. She'll also sell our coloring book gift set on her site.
Sign up at yaraimani.com to be notified when her site launches.
If you're in the Dallas area, swing by the Farmers Market this weekend for her first pop-up. Swipe to see the sample pop-up display she created today.

We had a blast night night at HAKing Innovation's Gratitude Gala. We celebrated the growth of the organization and learned about upcoming initiates. We experienced several hands-on activations where guests made LED reindeers, decorated ornaments and interacted with 3-D printed items. The event was intimate and the food was delish! Aaaaand we may or may not have captured our holiday pic at the gala β€

Grateful.
I've always LπVED reading, especially stories of adventure and excitement. I love helping my children cultivate their own love of reading. Here are several titles we've loved and read over and over.
