Scout Docks

Lowered a small dock a couple of weeks ago and found several interesting things. This goes back to choosing your dock builder wisely from my previous posts. They painted the outside of the channel to look like it was galvanized, one post was not even welded to the purlin. No additional brackets to the channel and posts like we do. A small gauge tube in one spot vs channel. And lastly wrong screws that create mushroom deck finish. Don’t ask, I have no clue why it was 5 feet above the water. Fun stuff.

I conducted a dock review for a homebuyer this past Saturday. To make an informed decision, it is essential to seek input from friends or experts with dock experience or knowledge before assuming readiness. This approach enables the collection of information and fosters informed decision-making, considering the variety of opinions that may be encountered.

Day one of adding on to this dock. Going perfect. My goal on this one is better in progress updates. Last dock to be posted soon…..

Another dock going in on the Brazos. Just 20 more pipes to go!!

Remember this dock we complety replaced the unfinished metal in February. Well the customer wanted a safer and stronger ladder. Also the cradle was so rusted out it completly lost its ability to lift, cleaned it up, welded new supports and coated with marine epoxy.
Take a look at your cradle before your boat ends up falling into the water!!!
