We want to continue recognizing amazing current Roo band students & alumni for their amazing accomplishments.

JT Baker (class of 2019) is currently performing in his second tour of “Blast!” Blast! is an explosive theatrical stage show that transforms outdoor drum and bugle corps pageantry into an indoor theatrical performance. Featuring a cast of about 60 musician-athletes, the production won a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event and a Primetime Emmy Award in 2001.

JT is one of two featured snare soloists on this tour. This tour will have 38 performance in 14 cities. He has also previously been center snare for Santa Clara Vanguard and now teaches for SCV.

Thanks for representing Roo Nation!

Your Weatherford High School Fightin’ Roo Band and Color Guard have started their annual cookie dough fundraiser! Boxes are $24 and will be delivered on December September 8 for pickup.

There are several great cookies that you can get just in time for the holiday season! Cookies come in a box with 40 preformed cookies. The thaw-and-serve brownies are a band favorite and come in a 26 oz box. All doughs can last up to at least a year in the freezer.

We are accepting orders now through August 17! We can accept cash, check (payble to WBFC), and credit/debit cards. Just let me know what you want and I will mark you down. If paying by card, text CCF to 44944, make your payment, and send the receipt number to me. Again, delivery date will be September 8 at the WHS Band hall for you to come pick up your orders. Cookie dough is not available for shipping.

We also have an online store available with other items like tumblers, popcorn, candles, coffee and more. These items can be shipped or delivered to the school, just notate on the order.

We want to take a moment to recognize some hardworking current students and alumni from WHS who have done some pretty amazing things this summer. These 4 young men marched or are marching with drum and bugle corps.

Drum corps from around the country (and sometimes outside the US) travel all summer perfecting 11 minute shows and ending the season in August at Championships! Drum corps is often considered the Olympics of marching band, and has grown as a very elaborate performing art.

Drum Corps are made up of brass, percussion, and color guard performers from ages 15-22. Members audition in the fall and train in the spring and early summer before traveling all summer to compete in shows across the US.

Current students Jacob Shorter (tuba ‘28) and Braden Griggs (trumpet ‘28) marched with with Zephyrus Drum & Bugle Corps out of Tulsa, OK as an open class corp. This up and coming corp did a shorter competitive season through Arkansas, Oklahoma, & Texas with their show “Neverlost” and is a great stepping stone into the activity.

Adrian Cruz (snare drum ‘26) is currently with The Battalion DBC out of Salt Lake City, UT and also in the open class division. They are competing in open class championships tonight and are holding on to a very tight 1st place lead with their program “In Search Of”!

Graham Parish (Drumset ‘26) is awaiting world class championships over this weekend. He is performing with Pacific Crest DBC from City of Industry, CA. Performing their program “Irresistible”, they are sitting on the cusp of making finals for the first time in a few years and we are excited for that possibility.

All 4 of these students have done a great job of representing Roo Nation and making the FRB family proud. We had several students and directors get to watch their performances in Denton, McKinney, Bedford, and San Antonio! Thank you for your dedication to the marching and performing arts! We are so proud of you!

Our families working together to support not only our band, but our community is so truly special. Your dedication definitely does not go unnoticed!
