Something to ponder on.
That is over $60 freaking bucks sitting in my hand.
For one piece, 2 feet long, of sterling silver small bead wire.
I guarantee that I will use this up for one project in less than an hour.
This is just one tiny piece for one project.
No time, labor, stones or other materials and shop costs involved yet.
It costs full time makers THOUSANDS, not hundreds, thousands of dollars every month to operate.
This is a fact. Its not a brag. Because I guarantee every single maker I know shakes their head, takes a stiff drink or reaches for smelling salts every time they order supplies.

So every time you see a piece, made by hand, from an American maker, that has even the smallest of simple details like beads or rope added to it. Please appreciate the fact that they paid dearly in both dollars and time to put those details on a piece to make it the best of quality piece.

No, I will not include any imported pieces into that comparison at all or ever! Half of those are just pieces that are cast in one go and throw some stones on them. They are not individually hand fabricated pieces.
Cast pieces are made in dozens at a time with one pour.
If stones don't fit in the pre-made cast setting? Well just glue them in and ship em out to the waiting stores. ( You can hear the sarcasm in my typing ) Glueing stones in is a cardinal sin.
There's plenty more I can say about imported pieces but y'all have heard it all from me before.

Okay my vent for the day is over. Back to work.
The days are too short to waste time venting about something I cannot change.
