Congratulations to Waynesville Elementary Teacher Mrs. Christy Turner on 35 years in education!⭐

She has been part of Wayne Local Schools since 1991, first serving as a substitute teacher before being hired in 1993 as a first grade teacher. For 33 years, Mrs. Turner has taught first and second grade students at WES, making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.

Mrs. Turner shared that the relationships she nurtured are what made teaching so meaningful throughout her career. That care and commitment for students, colleagues, and families have made a profound impact on so many!

In retirement, Mrs. Turner is looking forward to a very special new role: Grandmother! Her family will welcome their first grandchild in July, and she is excited to have more time to make special memories with him.

Thank you, Christy Turner, for the care, kindness, and dedication you have given us at Wayne Local Schools. YOU will be missed!🧡🤍🖤

WLS Parents: The due date to update FinalForms has been extended to Friday, June 12.

This extension is being provided because some families accidentally updated the 2025–26 account instead of the 2026–27 account, while others are close to completion but still have a few items left to finish.

🚌Completing FinalForms by June 12 helps ensure transportation for the first two weeks of school. Transportation will still be provided after that date, but routes may take additional time to finalize.

A few important reminders:

✅ You no longer need to select the school year. As of today, families can only update the 2026–2027 account.
✅ Please review and update residential information and transportation fields as needed.
✅ If your residential information has recently changed, updated proof of residence is required. Accepted documents include a mortgage statement, deed, lease, and recurring monthly bill. These may be uploaded to your student’s folder in FinalForms.

Bus route information will be available by August 1, 2026.

❓ Please don't hesitate to contact your child's school office with any questions:
