Before I take the photo, I’m looking at the light, the background, your hands, your posture, your hair, your outfit, the little details, and the overall feeling of the moment.

I’m checking for distractions behind you, making sure the angle is flattering, fixing anything that may feel out of place, and helping guide you into a pose that feels natural instead of stiff.

Because good photos don’t happen by accident.

They come from paying attention to all the tiny things that make a big difference — the way the light hits your face, the movement in your dress, the way your hands connect, the laugh right after the prompt, the quiet in-between moment that feels like you.

So while you’re just enjoying the session, I’m behind the camera making sure everything comes together beautifully.

Sometimes getting the shot means finding the right light, choosing the right angle, giving the right prompt…

And sometimes it means wearing a child’s Bluey headphones because it makes him laugh.

When kids are part of a session or wedding day, I don’t expect them to act like tiny adults. Kids have big feelings, short attention spans, silly moods, and their own little world — and I’m more than happy to meet them there.

Whether that means being goofy, playing along, taking breaks, making it feel like a game, or doing whatever gets those real smiles out, I’ll do what I can to help them feel comfortable.

Because beautiful photos with kids don’t always come from forcing perfect poses. Sometimes they come from patience, silliness, trust, and a photographer who isn’t afraid to look a little ridiculous to make the moment work.

So yes, I’ll fix the dress, pose the couple, capture the details…
