Today, I (Crytstal Walden) had the privilege of connecting with fellow educational leaders from across the CSRA while serving as a judge for the five Teacher of The Year finalists in Burke County Public Schools. Thank you, BCPS, for your wonderful hospitality!

Three BCHS seniors participated in today's Future Georgia Educators’ Signing Day. Aceia Moore, Samuel Parrish, and Bridgitt Sloop are graduating seniors from the class of 2024 who have made the important decision to take on the challenge of educating the future youth of Georgia. BCPS is proud to congratulate our Future Georgia Educators.

Annie Hickman named 2024 Distinguished Elementary Gifted Student.

Annie's on a mission to bring a dog park to Waynesboro. For the past three years, she's been tirelessly working towards making it a reality, even presenting her idea to the Burke County Board of Commissioners as a brave 4th grader in April 2023.

Annie will be recognized at the Georgia's Association for the Gifted Children conference in Columbus, Georgia next month.

BCPS kicks off the 2021-2022 school year with Chad Porter! Chad Porter is one of the nation's most inspirational and motivational speakers and one of the few Zig Ziglar Certified Speakers.

BCHS Cheer began the celebration and The Pride wrapped it up. The new year us off to a great beginning.

Leadership started the 21-22 school year with Principal Kafele, who left us with one inspiring question to reflect on, "Does Instruction Thrive Under My Leadership?"
We are anticipating a BEARtastic school years!
