In March of 2020, closed its doors due to the Covid Pandemic. We stopped serving cold pressed juices, delicious salads, delectable chicken soup, watermelon lemonade, Peruvian coffee, and more. Most importantly, we missed our customers, their stories, the laughter and the joy they brought, as well as serving our little community of . We transitioned to a gallery and incubator, we hosted an escape room, held poetry events, the junior signs of rural life with , and sponsored other businesses and events.
A chapter is closing, yet giving to my little community I called home for 10 years does not mean it ends with my departure. I support and will continue to support businesses in little towns such as Wayne, NE. Thus, it is my pleasure to be able to support and the Beach Family. I will stop by next time I'm in Wayne. For now I want to thank my hubby for dropping off the items that I still had, so in a way a little bit of Ekeko Blends continues through the work of Jacklyn and family.
Feeling blessed in my new role in Illinois and spreading blessings to all. Love and peace.

If you are traveling through Grayslake, IL on March 8th, the University Center of Grayslake will be hosting the Art and Wine Scholarship Fundraiser Artwork from Ekeko Galleries and Blue Cat Gallery & Studiowill be shown. Other Galleries in the Illinois area have also contributed. (https://www.kathleenweinsteinphotography.com/).

Ekeko’s Origins
Our Story
Ekeko Blends was named after a pre-Incan deity of health, wealth, and well-being in Peruvian folklore, it is a juice bar and Peruvian cafe where natural drinks help to enhance your well-being using cold-pressed process which retains all the natural elements of the fruit, vegetable, tuber, etc. Ekeko Blends offers Peruvian infused treats and foods and serve coffees from Peru. Other drinks such as teas, smoothies, and energy drinks are also served. Here at Ekeko blends you can learn about Peruvian culture through books, Peruvian items sold, and conversation. This is a sit-down place where friends, family, and or groups can enjoy a little bit of Peruvian culture in Wayne, Nebraska or for you to add ambiance through other events such as poetry slams, karaoke, club meetings, etc.
Background Information.
The use of a gluten free diet is based on her upbringing in Dr. Mytzy’s Peruvian family. Her ideas for teas and smoothies as well as the cold pressed notion comes from years of use within her family. Her education in the fields of biology, anthropology, podiatric medicine, education, and educational administration have added to her knowledge. Her credo uses the scientific method when problem-solving. This is not to say that she will experiment with her clients, but she is very confident on how to maintain a safe working environment within a food setting. Dr. Mytzy is an educator at heart and a life-long learner who enjoys to acquire information and share it. Within the juice bar you will not only find yummy blends of fruits, veggies and tuber drinks, but you will also find useful research-based advice and information. Together with her team, she strives to bring awareness and education on healthy eating and lifestyle.
