Do it with them. Make it part of your day, part of your play.
Laugh, be silly, make mistakes, and don’t make a big deal of it being “exercise”…
It’s incredible, it’s a privilege, our bodies allow us to do cool things. Allow it to be something they do because it’s fun and bonding time vs something the “need” to do!
Part of our summer routine on Fridays is to go to the park and play family basketball. I’m not very good so they get good laughs and I love it.
We are lucky to be able to move, I’m aware it truly is a privilege and I will continue to empower my kids to love how their bodies move, in whatever way that is.

Nutrition therapy should not feel like someone handing you a list of rules, fixing you, or molding you into a different person.
You are already enough.
Our role at Truce Nutrition is not to decide what your goals *should* be. It is not to do the work for you either. I am here to educate, empower and support.
Our role is to help you explore what matters to you — whether that’s:
✨ More energy
✨ Less food stress
✨ Improved blood work (if applicable)
✨ Feeling stronger (inside and out)
✨ Healing your relationship with food
✨ Nourishment that actually fits your life
The “right” changes are not the ones that look best on social media.
They’re the ones that align with your values, your body, your capacity, and your real life.
Support > shame.
Collaboration > control.
Sustainable change > perfection.
What’s one change that would actually feel meaningful to *you* right now?
❤️
TOFU. 🫣
I know… half of you just kept scrolling.
But hear me out: tofu is not the flavor of the me. Tofu is just… *the canvas*.
You wouldn’t blame plain pasta for being boring, right? Or a naked chicken breast? (Actually… maybe you would 😂)
Tofu is:
✔️ Budget friendly (often under $3)
✔️ Protein packed (also calcium, iron and antioxidants)!
✔️ Quick to cook
✔️ Keeps forever in the fridge if sealed.
✔️ Completely customizable
Sweet? Savory? Crispy? Saucy? Spicy? Air fried? Stir fried? Crumbled into tacos? Blended into a creamy sauce? You get to choose your own adventure.
Think of tofu as the friend with no strong opinions — it just shows up and matches the vibe.
Not a tofu lover? You don’t have to be. But if your only experience was one sad, flavorless cube from 2009… I’m asking you to give tofu a chance again.
Tip: buy it extra extra firm and make sure to get all the water out (I wrap it towels and put something heavy on top).

It’s the constellation of forces that lead to a result, not just one factor.
Remember this when villainizing or glamorizing one food. Or if a new product advertises itself as “the answer.”
Expand your positive, adaptive behaviors and try to focus on that. Steady, consistent shifts can change your constellation in a meaningful way!
Have a great MDW everyone!

Be the 🐢
Fast and extreme= quick change = quick stop and revert back to old habits (typically).
Slow and steady= sustainable behavioral change =long term benefits (typically).
Here at Truce Nutrition we have no interest in supporting goals for a quick “beach body” - whatever that is 🤯 !?
We are here for the long-run, we care for meaningful/impactful change.
Let us help you prioritize, strategize and actually follow through on behavior changes that are important to you!

A little message on this Mother’s Day, better late than never 💜
Mother’s Day can be an emotionally complicated day for many so I was hesitant if I wanted to bring attention to it or not.
For me, motherhood is not just about the beautifully thrilling and exhausting journey of raising children, but the acceptance of being a forever changed person.
It’s the best change yet and one I can now lean into with confidence even when times are hard.
I hope you can embrace the person you are now and stop chasing old parts that may not fit the puzzle anymore. Things will continue to evolve and the more we can meet change with an open heart and mind, the more we can become who we are truly meant to be 🌺🩷🌸
Have you ever thought “I can’t ever trust myself around xyz food?”
Try eating it everyday for a period of time, a big key is knowing you will be eating it again the next day and so on. Of course, I wouldn’t start with a food that is highest on the challenge list, but maybe one that is a 6/7 out of 10 in terms of units of distress. A light challenge but no flooding!
At first, yes it will be thrilling, exciting, maybe hard to eat calmly. By day 5,6.7- that thrill may lessen, the pleasure could still exist but with a neutrality or even disinterest you wouldn’t expect to ever experience.
Normalizing foods allows you to see all foods for what they are: food!
Sure some foods have more of a sensory or physical appeal (chips/ice cream vs carrots) but that emotional power can be managed via consistent/mindful exposure, adequate surrounding nutrition and working on your inner relationship with these foods.
Try it out, you may be surprised. If you need support in doing so, we are here 💜
Two breakfasts. Same home. Same parents. Same values.
And yet… completely different eaters.
One of my kids leans toward simple, familiar, more carbohydrate-based foods.
The other? Loves protein, veggies, and is all about trying something new.
Here’s the thing:
nothing is wrong with either of them.
They’ve both been raised with the same food exposure, the same environment, the same opportunities. And still, their preferences are different. Because kids are different. Period.
Food preferences aren’t completely a reflection of your parenting. They also are a reflection of each child’s unique wiring—sensory preferences, temperament, appetite, and development.
And the truth?
What they eat today is not a life sentence. Your role is to provide them with the tools, support and access to a variety while they make the choices of what to eat.
Preferences evolve. Comfort expands. Curiosity grows.
So if you’re sitting there wondering:
“Am I doing something wrong?”
You’re not.
You’re showing up. You’re offering. You’re supporting.
And that’s enough.
Let’s normalize raising kids who eat differentl, without guilt, without comparison, and without pressure.
This is not to say I don’t encourage you putting breaks in the day to stop, nourish and be present with your food. I feel this is critical to a healthy body and relationship with food, HOWEVER ….
We all have those days. Those days where you barely have enough time to breath or p*e 😫. Whether it’s the reality of perceived, those days can be hard to prioritize eating. It’s very easy to just push off meals or snacks until the end of the day and then we know how that goes…!
Start prioritizing fueling your body especially on the busiest days. Prepare ahead if you can, eat while you are doing other things if you need. We are here to help you navigate these situations and still take care of yourself. This is not wrong, this is prioritizing the basics in the moment.
Your productivity, headspace and coworkers/family will thank me later 😉
