Honest question —
Do you actually notice a difference in taste between farm fresh eggs and store-bought eggs?
Some people say yes immediately.
Some say they can’t tell.
Some say it depends how they’re cooked.
What’s your experience?

Quick egg storage fact 🥚
In the U.S., grocery store eggs are washed and refrigerated before they’re sold.
That washing process removes the natural protective coating (called the bloom).
Once that coating is gone, eggs must stay refrigerated.
Unwashed eggs still have that protective layer.
That’s why handling practices matter so much.
Egg quality isn’t just about color.
It’s about process.
Did you know eggs are handled differently in different countries?

Most people don’t realize this about eggs.
Yolk color doesn’t determine nutrition.
Dark orange yolks usually come from hens eating a diet rich in greens, bugs, and natural foraging.
Pale yolks typically come from a grain-heavy diet.
Both can be healthy.
But diet absolutely affects color.
Food is only as strong as what feeds it.

Random Farm Fact 🥚🌱
Don’t throw your eggshells away.
Eggshells are made up of nearly 95% calcium carbonate — the same compound found in agricultural lime.
When crushed and added to compost or garden soil, they can help:
• Add calcium back into the soil
• Support strong plant cell walls
• Reduce the risk of blossom end rot (especially in tomatoes and peppers)
• Improve long-term soil health over time
Important:
Eggshells don’t break down overnight.
For best results:
1. Rinse the shells.
2. Let them dry completely.
3. Crush them into small pieces (the finer, the faster they break down).
4. Mix into compost or lightly work into your soil.
Simple. Free. Effective.
