🌟 Putting the Pieces Together: One-Stop Community Stakeholder Meeting Recap! 🌟

On October 21, 2025, WorkSource Southern Georgia, in partnership with One-Stop Coordinator Tony McKenzie of In the Door, hosted the first-ever One-Stop Community Stakeholder Meeting at the Valdosta Career Center.

Themed β€œThe Missing Puzzle Piece: Putting the Pieces Together,” this event brought together community partners, service providers, and leaders from across our 18-county Southern Georgia region to strengthen collaboration and share resources that help job seekers, employers, and communities thrive.

🀝 Attendees included partners from:

Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA)
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College
Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS)
Coastal Plain Area EOA, Inc.
Lowndes Family Connection
And many other dedicated organizations serving our communities!

πŸ’¬ Participants explored ways to:
βœ… Strengthen referral systems between agencies
βœ… Raise awareness of workforce and community services
βœ… Build collaborative strategies to reduce employment barriers

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive β€” and we’re excited to keep the momentum going at our next meeting on January 20, 2026, at the SGRC Office in Waycross, Georgia.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected Southern Georgia workforce network! πŸ’Όβœ¨

Great work, MSH!

Celebrating Our Family Medicine Residency Graduates!
Congratulations to Dr. Darnelle Ambo and Dr. Blessy George, who were recently honored at a ceremony at the Okefenokee Country Club! πŸŽ‰

"We are incredibly proud of you and excited to see all the ways you will continue to make a difference in the world," said Brandi Waters, VP of medical staff services & quality. "I would also like to acknowledge and thank the program site directors, faculty and staff who have guided, mentored, and supported our graduates. The residency program would not be possible without you. Your dedication to teaching and your passion for medicine are helping to shape the future of healthcare."

Drs. Ambo and George completed two of their three years of training right here in Waycross through the Medical College of Georgia/Augusta University. We're thrilled that both new physicians will be practicing in Georgia! Dr. Ambo will join Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, and Dr. George will be at a general practice in Cu***ng.

DYK? Memorial Satilla Health was designated a "teaching hospital" in 1998. Waycross is the smallest community ever chosen for a family practice residency program in Georgia, a testament to our commitment to quality healthcare and training future medical leaders. Our residents receive invaluable inpatient training from dedicated local physicians at Memorial Satilla and other community practices.

Join us in wishing Drs. Ambo and George all the best in their new roles! We're so proud to have been a part of their journey. The new physicians are pictured with Program Director Dr. Brent Waters.
