The Waycross Middle School baseball team is proud to support the Ware County Rec Department’s 10U Allstars as they compete in the state tournament this week. Tonight, our middle school coaches provided a meal to help fuel them as they head into battle! Good luck and continue to maintain that State Title Attitude and Effort! ⚾️

Reminder! Summer Football Practice starts tomorrow at 9:00 am at the visitors locker room at the stadium. 🏈

Reminder! Pick up your summer meal tomorrow between 10:30 and 11:00. 🍎🫐🥕🥦

Waycross Middle School will be a pick up location for the summer feeding program. Students may come by and pick up their own box of meals, or a parent/guardian can come and pick up for their kids. 🍎🍓🫐🥕

And that’s a wrap on the 2025-2026 school year! 🎬✨ We officially closed out the year with our FFA Banquet, celebrating the incredible growth and achievements of all our members.

A huge thank you to County Line Farms for hosting our staff as we wrapped up our last day of work for the summer! We are so grateful for your hospitality and support of our school community.

To our teachers, students, and families — thank you for a wonderful school year. We hope you all have a safe, restful, and fun-filled summer! ☀️❤️🌻🌸💐

We are excited to have Dr. Peggy Jones at Waycross Middle School!

Meet the Admin: Dr. Peggy Jones, Assistant Principal at Waycross Middle School

Waycross Middle School is excited to welcome Dr. Peggy Jones as Assistant Principal for the upcoming school year!

For Dr. Jones, this transition feels a little like coming home. She began her educational career at Waycross Middle School in 2004, teaching 8th grade math for 11 years. Since then, she has served students across Ware County as an Algebra I teacher and assistant principal at Ware County High School and most recently as assistant principal at Wacona Elementary School. Along the way, she also served as the district inventory analyst and earned advanced degrees from Troy University, Kennesaw State University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from American College of Education.

Before entering education, Dr. Jones worked at International Paper while earning her Bachelor's Degree in Business from Georgia Southern University. After becoming a mother, she discovered a passion for education and has spent more than two decades investing in students, teachers, and schools throughout Ware County.

Dr. Jones believes great schools are built by great people working together. She leads with fairness, friendliness, and consistency, and strives to support teachers so they can meet the needs of every student. When asked what she hopes students feel when they walk through the doors each day, her answer was simple:

Outside of school, Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. She is a proud Georgia Bulldogs fan, never turns down a Diet Coke, and dreams of taking a cruise through the Hawaiian Islands with her husband.

Report cards will be available on parent portal on May 29 at 4:00pm.

You may pick up a physical copy of your child’s report card this week, May 26-29.

Pick up hours will be:
May 26: 1:00-3:00
May 27, 28, and 29: 8:00-11:00 and 1:00-3:00.

Due to the move to our new building this will be the only times offered to pick up the physical copy.
