At home dry eye treatments failing? You could be suffering from a treatable disorder found in 86% of dry patients known as Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. MGD is a blockage or abnormality of the meibomian glands found in the eyelids preventing secretion of oil into the tears.

According to the National Eye Institute (NEI), almost 16 million Americans suffer from dry eye. Dry eye occurs when there is not enough tear film produced, the tear film is not draining properly from the eye, or the tear film is not the quality needed to maintain the health of the eye.
