Registration is open for the Jerry Greenlee Sr. Memorial Annual Golf Tournament on August 15, 2026 at the Waverly Golf Course.

This 4-person best shot tournament is open to Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, Dispatch, Military, and friends/family. Whether you're golfing for the competition or just a great day with friends, we'd love to have you join us.

We're also actively seeking hole sponsors and prize donations. Businesses and individuals who donate will receive a custom sponsor golf flag as a thank-you for supporting the tournament and BCPOA programs. Sponsors will also be recognized at the tournament with their name displayed at a hole on the course.

As news of the loss of Maj. Brad Hovey continues to be felt across Iowa and our nation, please join me in praying for his family, friends, fellow Airmen, and all those mourning this tragedy.

Maj. Hovey was an Algona native, U.S. Air Force pilot, husband, father, and proud Iowa State University graduate. His service to our country reflects the dedication and sacrifice demonstrated every day by the men and women of our armed forces.

May God bring comfort to those grieving and may we never forget the sacrifices made by our military members and their families.

With school out for the summer, some families may need a little extra help keeping healthy meals on the table.

Beginning 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬, the Waverly-Shell Rock Area United Way is participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Summer Food Service Program through the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

A 5-day meal pack of breakfast and lunch will be available each Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at:

The program runs June 11 through August 13.
