Revisiting a half finished painting from a couple years ago. Still a ways to go. Reference photo is an image I took diving in the kelp forests of Monterey Bay, California.

Challenged myself to do a quick oil painting study in one sitting last night. Not always my comfort zone but really enjoyed it. Painting is of Anacapa Island in Southern California.

Finished! 14” x 11” pencil drawing. Enjoyed the dramatic lighting and perspective of this one. Lots of fun challenges.

Thank you for your contributions and efforts in support of our mission. Congratulations on being named Emeritus Directors!

Time is limited these days but staying active with drawing. I’ve always been fascinated with the marine life of the California coast. The southern sea otter was a fun new challenge. 14” x 11” graphite on paper.

Nearly finished working up this quick study of a white shark. I love the simplicity of a black and white pencil drawing.

My latest graphite drawing of a great white off the coast of California, with Anacapa Island in the background. There’s just something about this shark that will always captivate me.
