Important Road Closure: The intersection of Warrior Lane and Park Road will close Thursday, May 7 so that crews can reconstruct the intersection. Plan for an alternate route if traveling in this area.

• Trail on the east side of Warrior Lane will stay open through the end of the school year.
• The intersection (north, east, and west) is expected to reopen prior to July 4 for our Independence Day Celebration.
• Waukee Middle School and the Waukee Public Library will only be accessible from the north.
• You can enter Centennial Park from Ashworth Drive or park in the gravel lot off University Avenue near the covered bridge. The parking lot next to the Enclosed Shelter on University Avenue remains open.

Tree City USA - Waukee.

Planting trees in parks, working with elementary students and making it easy for residents to add trees to their own yards are just a few ways Waukee continues to grow its canopy. Because of these ongoing efforts, Waukee recently received the Tree City USA Award from the Arbor Day Foundation and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. This award recognizes cities who are committed to growing and maintaining their tree canopy by investing at least $2 per capita on trees and have a plan for planting and care of trees. Thank you to City Council for continuing to invest in a diverse and healthy tree canopy and to our Parks and Recreation Department for all their work with trees!

Doing some cleaning out and have things you no longer want or need? Consider hosting a garage or yard sale next Saturday, April 25 during the annual Citywide Garage Sale Day. This is not a City-sponsored event but is a designated day for Waukee residents to host their own sale. While there isn’t a designated site or flyer, some people post on Facebook Marketplace.
