It was an absolute pleasure to partner with the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce as they hosted their first Regional Civics Bee, an annual program of the National Chamber of Commerce.
π Civic Engagement is one of the main pillars of 4-H.
4-H civic engagement programs empower youth to become active, informed community members through hands-on projects, leadership training, and service learning. Focusing on areas like civic education, community service, and advocacy, these programs help youth connect to their communities and develop decision-making skills.
π Public speaking is a cornerstone practice of 4-H.
4-H public speaking programs empower youth to build confidence, poise, and communication skills through structured presentations, speeches, and demonstrations. Participants learn to organize ideas, engage audiences, and reduce anxiety.
π Today featured the top 20 finalists (from 135 submissions) from all over western New York. Students competed in two 10-multiple choice rounds to determine the top five participants. After delivering a 3-sentence summary of their community issue and solution ideas, points from all three rounds were tabulated to name the top three winners!! We all wish you the best of luck and know that you will represent us well at the state competition! π
