This may be my favorite so far. I've overdyed a lot of gray, but this is alpaca corewrapped rug yarn in fawns and browns unwound and dyed to a range golds, greens, and teal. This 100 yards of variegation will weave into a subtly self striping rug approximately 23" X 42" for reference. Both alpaca and wool corewrapped yarns on cotton cord make quick drying rugs that can be woven on peg looms or rug looms with cotton rug warp similar to a rag rug.

Are you prepping for Tour de Fleece?

Right now I have new imported European breeds of raw fleeces, generally clean and low in vegetable manner with some breeds you've probably not worked with before. I can send you a selection of 4 breeds, approximately 3.5- 4 ounces of each raw, for 50.00 shipped in the continental US. This is a sale offer good through June 30, PayPal invoice, not via Etsy.

Breeds include Welsh mule (BFLxWelsh.mountain), Black Harting ( single flock multiple breeds contributing), Llanwennogg ( Welsh, nice crimp med soft), Rya lamb, Dutch Painted Sheep ( Bonteschaap), Manx Loaghtan ( soft, fine crimp, short staple consistent with breed), Derbyshire Gritstone ( curly, longer staple). I have others in lesser amounts. It's OK to ask!

8 available.

Totally new challenge, designing a series of needlepoint pieces focused on celebration of God's glory as seen through the lens of the Psalms. In actuality, the plumage needs adjustment, but I'm ok with the overall orientation of the meadowlark and his aspect as he sings unto the Lord a new song ( Psalm 96). Acrylic paint markers on 18 count canvas. I am dyeing Dakota Fiber Mill Lincoln crewel yarn for yellows and pinks for the prairie rose in the series.

Have you ever woven with corewrapped yarn? Here's a rug i was working on last weekend. It goes fast! And they dry quickly, so great in a bathroom.

The thing I like best about this Aran weight cotton boucle yarn ( besides being grown and milled in the US) is how nice it is to knit with. The spinning technique gives it a little elasticity, friendly to your hands. Shown here, Apricot ( freshly picked, can you smell that?) and Spanish Moss. And yes, most of my colorways now are based on happy memories and favorite things.
