Family Storytime is coming up TOMORROW, Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 PM! Join us for stories, songs, and a fun activity/craft for all ages. This month’s theme is puppies in celebration of National Pet Month!
We’re also excited to welcome some very special furry guests from the Bishop's Small Dog Rescue, Inc. Bring the whole family for an evening full of books, fun, and puppy love at the library!
We are also collecting supplies all month long for the rescue, so feel free to stop by and donate anytime in May! They are currently in need of paper towels, large pet training pads, spray cleaners or refills (such as Spic-n-Span, Fabuloso, or Mr. Clean), liquid bleach, Tide liquid laundry detergent, and dog leashes for small dogs.

Finals Study Week for High School & College Students!
High school and college students are invited to the library for Finals Study Week, starting tomorrow Thursday, May 14 through Wednesday, May 20! We will have a quiet, dedicated space available during regular library hours for studying, working on projects, and preparing for final exams. Whether you need a peaceful place to focus or just a change of scenery, the library is here to help. To make studying a little easier, snacks and drinks will also be provided throughout the week! Take a break, recharge, and finish the school year strong, we’re cheering you on!

LEGO Day is TODAY, Monday, May 11 from 10:00am-8:00pm!
We have tons of LEGOS to build with! For each creation you make, you will get entered in our GRAND prize drawing in for a LEGO gift card! Your creation will also be put on display on the Wall of Fame for the next month. All ages are welcome to participate!

🎨Youth art programs offered in May*:
💡Teen Arts & Crafts Night will take place on Tuesday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. Teens in grades 6–12 will complete a light switch cover project.
😺🐶Adventures in Art will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m. Children ages 5–11 will create an art project for National Pet Month.

We are paws-itively thrilled to once again host our Stuffed Puppy Adoption Event to benefit Bishop's Small Dog Rescue, Inc. on Thursday, May 21 from 2:30–6:30 p.m. Simply bring a donation, and your kiddo can adopt their very own stuffed puppy.
Each child will get to choose a puppy, give it a name, and sign an official adoption certificate. The event will continue as long as we still have “puppies” available for adoption.
Bishop’s Small Dog Rescue is currently in need of paper towels, large pet training pads, spray cleaners or refills (such as Spic-n-Span, Fabuloso, or Mr. Clean), liquid bleach, Tide liquid laundry detergent, and dog leashes for small dogs. We will also have a donation collection set up for the entire month, so feel free to stop by and donate anytime in May!

Just a reminder that S.T.E.A.M. Stories (for ages 5-11) is TOMORROW, Thursday, May 7 at 6:30pm
STEAM Stories (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) starts with a story and then we complete a themed activity. April's theme is building a strong bird nest!

Donation Drive for Bishop's Small Dog Rescue, Inc.
During the month of May, we are having a donation drive for supplies for the rescue.
Items currently needed are:
-paper towels
-pet training pads (large ones)
-spray cleaners/refills (Spic-n-Span, Fabuloso, Mr. Clean, etc.)
-liquid bleach
-Tide liquid laundry detergent (orange or yellow bottle preferred & Costco brand works)
-dog leashes for small dogs

4-H Sparks at the Library (for ages 9-14)* on Wednesday, May 20 from 6:30-8:00pm

Join us for an exciting event with the University of Illinois Extension: Monroe County 4-H where we explore the fascinating world of our beloved pets and dive into the popular graphic novel series by Dav Pilkey. The workshops will not only focus on the adventures of the half-dog, half-man hero, but will also provide insights into the themes of bravery, friendship, and the importance of standing up for what is right!
In this workshop, youth ages 9-14 will learn:
