🌸✨ Waterbury, this is a big moment for our community ✨🌸
A moment that has taken nearly 10 years to accomplish.
Join us on May 28th at Silas Bronson Library as we unveil Waterbury’s first Flow Forward period pantry 💜
This is more than awareness—it’s about ACCESS.
Menstrual products are a basic need, yet so many people are left without consistent access, especially outside of school or business hours. This pantry is rooted in the belief that our community deserves a free, visible, stigma-free resource that people can access when they need it most.
✨ 24/7 access matters.
✨ Dignity matters.
✨ Community care matters.
The event will include:
🎥 a screening of Period. End of Sentence.

“Take what you need. Leave what you can.”
“Women are crazy” is such a lazy take.
It’s 2026.
We know about hormones.
Sometimes it’s not attitude…
it’s the luteal phase.
Offer grace. Or snacks. 🤷🏾♀️ BIG ANNOUNCEMENT later today!

The youth have spoken: 6 weeks of time together isn’t enough! 🩸✊🏾
We are extending our 6 week menstrual health program to an ongoing effort to support the learning and engagement in the community.
We welcome any young people age 11-18 to join. 😊
The next three weeks we will focus on a community project. The current youth are considering creating period pantries and donation drives. I’m so proud of them for showing up and sharing.
Starting April 13th, we will circle back to the beginning, covering education about menstrual health and the female reproductive system + organs. 👏🏾
BIG thank you to Waterbury Youth Services for offering space and assistance with facilitating this program. Thank you for seeing the importance of this initiative. 🩸

Doing what we love 🩸
Week 4 of our menstrual health program at Waterbury Youth Services. It’s been a delight meeting with these two young ladies, imparting knowledge into them about menstrual health AND equity in CT.
This week I asked them a question:
“Why is access important to families in Waterbury?” Here’s what they shared ⬇️
Do you have a child that is interested in joining our menstrual health and equity group?
🫂 We meet every Monday at 3:30pm at Waterbury Youth Services. Comment FLOW & TELL below and I’ll share the registration link with you.

1st day of February: Welcome to Black History Highlights
Mary Kenner invented the sanitary belt and modern day pad, paving the way for all other hygiene investors.
She also make sure that modern pads that prevented leakage. Despite facing racist rejection from companies, she held five patents—more than any other African-American woman—and continued inventing, including walker trays and toilet paper holders.
Mary Kenner also faced Discrimination: When a company initially showed interest in 1957, they withdrew after discovering she was Black.
