A huge thank you to Surepoint Emergency Center for dropping off a goody bowl for our A-Shift crew. 🍬🍫 Small gestures like these go a long way in boosting morale and reminding our firefighters how much they are appreciated.

While we’re sharing some good news, we’d also like to take this opportunity to introduce one of five of our newest firefighters, Ryan Reagan 🚒

Reagan joins the Watauga Fire Department with a passion for serving others and a commitment to our community. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome to the WFD family. We are excited to have him on our team and look forward to the contributions he will make.

🥳🔥🎆 HAPPY 67TH BIRTHDAY, WATAUGA FIRE DEPARTMENT! 🥳🔥🎆
Established June 10, 1959

Today, we celebrate 67 years of proud service, dedication, and community protection with members from the Volunteer Department and/or Department of Public Safety days.

The roots of our department trace back to December 1958, when members of the community came together to raise funds and support the creation of a volunteer fire department. Just six months later, on June 10, 1959, the Watauga Volunteer Fire Department was officially organized.

From a handful of devoted individuals to a modern, professional department— our mission has remained the same:

"Protecting with Purpose; Serving with PRIDE."
👨🏻‍🚒Professionalism
🤝Respect
🛡️Integrity
🚒Dedication
🥇Excellence

We are proud of our history and grateful for the contributions of those who helped build and serve the Watauga Fire Department throughout the years.

On this 67th Birthday, we HONOR those who laid the foundation and those who continue to serve with courage and compassion every day. Here's to our legacy—and the future we're building together.

Not every call for service comes through 911.

Today, a family visited us with a special request. They had just received their father's flag and needed assistance folding it.

Engineer Martinez and Firefighter Castro were honored and humbled to assist and ensure it was folded properly with the dignity and respect their father deserved.

What started as a simple request became a meaningful reminder of what it means to serve our community. Sometimes service isn't on an emergency scene. Sometimes it's taking a few moments to help a family honor a loved one and preserve a treasured symbol of their legacy!

Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of this special moment.
