We are pleased to share that Alaska Waste has officially assumed operations of Denali Refuse following the retirement of the former owners.

Alaska Waste’s Mat-Su services are managed and operated by our local team in Wasilla. We are proud to employ approximately 60 Mat-Su residents, providing quality jobs in our community. Our teams are actively engaged across Alaska, and we support a wide range of local non-profit organizations.

In addition, our safety standards top all others within the trash industry; we’re committed to providing you with safe, reliable, and friendly service.

Below are answers to some frequently asked questions. If you need any additional assistance, our team is ready to help.

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀?
No. Your service will continue without interruption.

𝗜𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴?
No, your scheduled service day remains the same at this time.

However, your pick up time may vary. Please have your bins out by 6 a.m. on your day of service to ensure collection. We will communicate any future changes in advance.

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗜 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿?
Alaska Waste has retained all Denali Refuse employees, including drivers. Routes may be adjusted, so you may see a different driver from the same trusted team.

𝗗𝗼 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?
No. You do not need to take any action at this time. Payments will continue to be processed as usual. We will notify you in advance if any updates are needed.

𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴?
As a utility, all residential rates are fully regulated by the Regulatory Commission of Alaska. You will be notified in advance of any future changes.

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲?
We will continue offering the same services currently provided.
In addition, we offer septic and portable toilet services.

Memorial Day Holiday Notice: Trash routes will be running as regularly scheduled on Monday, May 25, 2026.
