I'm now Studio Orchards! Since I sold the facilities on Rye Road a few years ago I moved a mile north and planted fruit trees. But you can still come and get your Boreal Coir and assorted greenhouse hardware from me at Studio Orchards. The address there is 7815 Tolson Avenue, Wasilla. My cell # is 509-435-3135. See you soon.

Studio Orchards
My first harvest at Studio Orchards. The trees are just a year old, and I discovered I failed to pinch about 10 blossoms off of the hundred or so trees. So this year I'll have enough apples to enjoy dessert on several evenings.Since we sold the house on Rye Road, Veggies On Rye is becoming Studio Orchards. The chickens got all 12 grapes too.

Boreal Coir Shipment Has Arrived At Last

For everyone who has been patiently waiting for the next shipment- It has finally arrived! Maybe you should consider stocking up for next year since we have no idea when this craziness will end. It's also about time to put a dozen blocks out in your chicken coop so it will be primed and ready to go for next spring. See you soon!

Wasilla, Alaska
It's that time of year folks! We're all getting anxious to get some seeds growing. I have a new shipment of Boreal Coir ready for your spring planting needs. I think everything starts better in Boreal Coir. It comes in 11 lb blocks of compressed material. Blocks are $13 each and expand to at least 3 cubic feet of material. That's about half the price of Promix. If you buy 10+ blocks I'll drop the price to $12 per block. I even have wholesale pallet pricing available for bulk orders. You can learn more at my farm FB page at Veggies On Rye. In Wasilla. 4887 S Rye Circle. Near Settlers Bay Thanks

After our rain of the last few days- here are a couple new pictures of the Boreal Coir blocks I put out between my high tunnels last week. They are maybe 30% expanded.

I put a pallet of Boreal Coir in the paths between the greenhouses today. I'll let winter rehydrate them and till and plant oats or wheat in that space next spring. It will probably be a space to run a chicken tractor.

It's been four years waiting for my trees to get big enough to give me something to eat. The apricots are ripe. The plums, nectarines, and peaches aren't far behind. There aren't many but it's a start.

Interestingly my honey bee hive is about 50 ft from my orchard high-tunnel, but the cherry blossoms are covered with native bumble bees and no honey bees.

A good example of how plant roots air prune in Boreal Coir blocks. Tomatoes get to a certain size and just stay there until they get transplanted.

Kiwi's from seeds. It's taken three months to sprout them

A few thousand starts in Boreal Coir just growing along.
