This is the reality of studying when you have children. This little guy has an ear infection and just needs to sleep on mama.

I'm looking for willing participants to help me complete a midwifery assignment. Any takers?

A sign a student midwife is learning is a worn out Midwifery book. I love so much about this book. It is denfinitly geared towards the nurse midwife who works in hospital though. But hey I figure it can't hurt to know all of it. 🙂

Put in 8 good hours of study time today. Looking forward to clinic tomorrow.

Three babies in two days, 24home visits, and clinic. It's been a busy week. I'm thankful to be doing it with Peggy Halsey. This work is fulfilling and even more so knowing my boss appreciates me and is rooting for my success every step of the way. Plus she feeds me quite often. 🙂

Ok so FB keeps sending me notifications that I need to do a post update. I am not a writer however as you may know I'm not a quitter So here it is..... I am so happy with the work I'm doing. Midwifery was the right choice for me. The last year has been challenging. Every pregnancy and birth is a journey that I am blessed to go on with each woman I care for. This journey is filled with beauty, raw emotion, sweat, and tears of joy. It's not always easy but it's always rewarding in the end. Every mother teaches me something new. As I move forward in my apprenticeship I look back at where I started long enough to realize how far I have come, this only fills me with excitement for the next year as I start my primaries. I'm looking forward to being apart of many more journeys with many more mothers.

The last several months have been a whirlwind on this midwifery journey. I have laughed, cried, felt empowered, and felt defeated. I have never been a quitter but boy have there been times I daydreamed about it. All and all things have been challenging yet satisfying. I'm very excited and proud to say that I have made Senior apprentice midwife status. I include a picture of a good friend and her new sweet baby at Labor of Love's Christmas party this last Saturday.
