Shortage of families leaves few options, adds pressure for those in Alaska’s foster care system Alaska has more children in its foster care system in need of homes than it has families licensed to take them in.

4 more days until May and only 8 more days until May 4th! The entire amonth of May is National Foster Care Awareness Month with National Foster Care Awareness Day being May 4th.
