Joyce Hatfield-Wise is a practicing attorney in Washington County with 23 years of experience. Joyce has lived in Amwell Township for 29 years with her husband, Don of 31 years. Joyce also has a Bachelor of Science magna cm laude in Communication and Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Education in Psychological Services from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Family Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Social Work. She has been given numerous personal and professional awards, including being named Government Lawyer of the Year by the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Certificate of Meritorious Service from the Washington County Bar Association, Northrop Vocational Service Award from the Washington County Rotary, Education Award from the League of Women Voters, and scholarship from the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Federal District Court of Western Pennsylvania. Joyce was the first full-time attorney for Washington County Children and Youth and passionately served there for 18 years. Joyce provided similar contract services to Greene County Children and Youth. Currently, Joyce is providing legal representation to survivors of domestic violence in obtaining protection orders, custody, support, or divorce. Joyce has also provided legal services to delinquent youth and has accepted court appointments representing parents and children in adoption matters, and engaged in the private practice of law. She has committed her life to service and has engaged in many volunteer activities including Lawyers on Ladders, Canonsburg Hospital Pastoral Care, Canonsburg Clean-Up, various Vacation Bible Schools, Women's Retreats, Bible Release Time, and started Girl Scout Troop 50556 and leading her troop to Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. Joyce is committed to serving Washington County as Judge and believes firmly in term limits, creative sentencing aimed as reducing re-offending, and will give back $50,000.00 every year to Washington County charities. Joyce believes that together we can do great things for the people of Washington County.
