It's almost Storm Scouts season! Our popular youth day camp is back this summer, offering THREE week-long sessions for grades 3-6 and 7-10 in August. After 76 hours of fairly consistent summit fog and no sunshine, a brief break in the clouds early this morning allowed one of our summit volunteers to capture a glimpse of sunrise on the horizon. Happy Father's Day and Summer Solstice from the summit!â›…

Yesterday's very cloudy timelapse from our Wildcat camera looking towards the summit. Not pictured is our peak wind gust of 97 mph, which broke the daily wind record for June 19th, previously held at 96 mph!

The summit has been mostly obscured since Wednesday night, with only a short reprieve from the fog, pictured here right after yesterday afternoon's thunderstorm. Over 2 inches of rain has fallen on Mt Washington in the past 48 hours, with additional rain showers forecasted over the weekend.
