Tomorrow morning, the Senate Agriculture Committee will hold a markup on their version of the Senate Farm Bill. The Save Our Bacon Act is currently not in the Senate but there will likely be attempts to add it – or something similar to overturn state farmed animal welfare laws like .

Overturning Prop 12 will:

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has approved a resolution to transition the Oregon National Primate Research Center into a leading national center for non-animal research while substantially reducing experiments on monkeys 🐵➡️🧪

While we’re disappointed that the university decided not to turn the center into a sanctuary and move away from monkey experiments altogether, we’re excited about their plan to reduce experiments and urge them to move those monkeys no longer being used to sanctuary.

This decision is a step in the right direction and we hope to see other primate research facilities take similar steps.

We will sue the Trump administration for gutting Endangered Species Act protections ⚖️

After the Trump administration's most recent attack against the ESA -- removing the blanket 4(d) rule, which ends automatic protections for future threatened species and weakens long-standing wildlife safeguards -- Humane World for Animals and a coalition of conservation organizations put the USFWS on notice that we’d see the agency in court if it does not reverse this decision in 60 days.

The Endangered Species Act stands at the very heart of wildlife protection in the U.S. And we intend to make sure that it stays that way.
