The 23rd annual Georgetown French Market is sure to be magnifique!

Join us at Sovereign all weekend long for our deep French wine list and a host of French draft beers and ciders! Starting Friday, April 24th and stretching through Sunday, April 26th, we’re featuring a list of selected French offerings for just $7!

The Georgetown BID is hosting their 23rd annual Georgetown French Market April 24-26, 2026. This popular open-air market – originally inspired by those often seen in France – will feature sidewalk sales and specials from more than 40 locally-owned boutiques, cafés and galleries along Wisconsin Avenue from O St to Reservoir Rd, plus live music, stilt walkers, face painting, a mime and more. Neighborhood restaurants will also offer food and drink specials featuring French cuisine and beyond – from pastries, croissants, and macarons, to lunch items grilled outside, and wine discounts.

A CELEBRATION OF FRENCH FARMHOUSE ALE FEATURING LA MALPOLON!

Join The Sovereign on Thursday, May 7th, as we feature Brasserie La Malpolon. On this night, we will celebrate French farmhouse ales by pouring 3 drafts from this modern craft brewery from Lavérune, France!

This special event is organized by La Malpolon to celebrate rustic French farmhouse beers. Located near Montpellier, in the heart of the Languedoc vineyard, La Malpolon has been brewing some of the finest farmhouse beers and grape ales in France since 2018. Using exclusively local, independent artisan malts, European hops, locally sourced unprocessed fruits and plants, and a cellar of around sixty barrels, they take a strong terroir-driven approach to brewing.

Don’t miss your chance to try this special lineup of beers, and take home some limited edition glassware!

There is no admission fee for this event. All featured beers will be available a la carte.

GUIDED TRAPPIST ALE TASTINGS WITH GREG ENGERT!

On Saturday, May 2nd, and Sunday, May 3rd, The Sovereign will host two private guided tastings of Trappist Ales. Our very own Greg Engert, NRG Beverage Director, will lead you through 9 of his favorite Trappist Ales.

Trappist beer must be brewed by, or under the direct supervision of, monks belonging to the Cistercians of the Strict Observance (the Trappist order), within the walls of a Trappist monastery, and in accordance with strict standards set by the International Trappist Association (ITA). Over time, the number of Trappist breweries has fluctuated. There are currently 8 active Trappist breweries in the world.

Together, we will explore a range of Trappist ales, including a 3-year vertical tasting of Orval. Tickets are $55 per guest, excluding taxes and fees. The private tastings begin at 12:00 PM both days. Each guest will receive nine (9) taster pours of Trappist ale.

The Sovereign is honored to join the best beer bars and breweries from across the globe in hosting Cantillon's prestigious Zwanze Day!

The Zwanze 2026 beers (yes, there are 2 this year!) will be served at 3 PM, as we join the other Zwanze Day locations in a worldwide toast.

For this year’s Zwanze beers, Cantillon worked with Vermouth Sullivan. Artémis La Blanche, is a blend of a dry, white Vermouth with Lambic. Artémis La Rouge, is a blend of a sweet, red Vermouth with Kriek.

We will also feature 9 additional Cantillon drafts along with a selection of Cantillon bottles, and a limited amount of lambic gift sets. Zwanze Day shirts and glassware will also be available.

All Cantillon drafts will be available at 10 AM, except for the Zwanze beers, which will be served at 3 PM. There is no admission fee for this event. Zwanze pours and seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
