Happy birthday, President Roosevelt!
On this day in 1882 Franklin Delano Roosevelt, our nation's longest-serving president, was born. FDR is seen here laying the cornerstone for the Jefferson Memorial in 1939. Only 58 years later he would be honored with his own memorial on the National Mall. Happy birthday, FDR!
