Our first cafe and roastery at 1535 7th st - open for 4144 consecutive days and counting! Snows storms included, of course.

Something powerful happens when we show up for each other.
When the federal government shut down, we launched Fuel the Federal Workforce to serve free coffee and food to furloughed federal workers.
Since then, we’ve served over 12,000 people - each one with a story, a smile, and a reminder of what makes our DC community so special.
Thank you to everyone who contributed, stopped by, or helped spread the word. You made this possible. ❤️☕

We’re giving free coffee and food to federal workers across the DMV!
Starting today, all furloughed federal employees can stop into any of our cafes once per day for a free drink and a free food item with their valid federal agency ID.
Federal workers are the backbone of Washington. They open the doors, keep our skies safe and our streets clean, care for our parks, and make sure our country moves forward - often without recognition. Now, many of them are facing a difficult time.
At Compass, we believe in showing up for the people who show up for all of us. But we can’t do it alone. That’s why we created the Fuel the Federal Workforce Fund - a simple way for anyone to help keep Washington going.
Every contribution goes directly toward providing free coffee and food for federal workers at our cafes in DC, Virginia, and Maryland. Because when times are uncertain, community matters most.
