Today, as Senegal takes on France, we’re highlighting Senegal’s commitment as part of FP2030’s “Family Planning is a Team Sport” campaign with World Vasectomy Day.
Senegal is working to expand access to modern contraception, strengthen youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services, and increase investment in the supplies and systems that help people make informed choices about their futures.

⚽ What makes a great team? Communication. Trust. Everyone playing their part.
As the FIFA World Cup brings the world together, Dr. Esgar Guarin from Vasectomy Day is reminding us that family planning is also a team sport.
Decisions about if, when, and how to build a family affect everyone — yet women have historically carried much of the responsibility for contraception.
When partners share the conversation, learn about options together, and support each other’s choices, families are stronger.

⚽ Family planning works best when everyone plays a role.
As the world gets ready for the FIFA World Cup, FP2030 and World Vasectomy Day are exploring a different kind of teamwork: how families, partners, communities, and countries can work together to support sexual and reproductive health.
South Africa’s FP2030 commitment highlights the importance of strong health systems and equitable access to family planning information and services.
In 2025, 50% of women of reproductive age (15–49) in South Africa were using, or had a partner using, a modern method of contraception.
Because when people can plan their families, they can build healthier futures.

Family planning programs become more effective when inclusion is designed into every level of the system.
In the latest FP2030 + Sightsavers article series on disability-inclusive family planning, Maryam Aminu shares lessons from Sightsavers’ inclusive family planning project in Nigeria on what it takes to move beyond policy commitments and into practical implementation.
The article explores how:
• Organizations of persons with disabilities helped identify barriers in health facilities
• More than 1,500 providers were trained on disability inclusion
• Community inclusive champions created trusted spaces for informed decision-making
• Disability-inclusive budgeting helped turn commitments into funded action
It also highlights an essential point from the HIPs strategic planning guide: people with disabilities must be included not only as participants, but as decision-makers, partners, and leaders throughout the program cycle.

Did you miss us at Women Deliver?
FP2030 joined global conversations on family planning, bodily autonomy, gender equality, community leadership, misinformation, and the future of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Throughout the conference, our team participated in plenaries, high-level discussions, and interactive events focused on protecting rights-based access to family planning and ensuring communities most impacted are not left behind.
We highlighted the urgent need to invest in community-led solutions, strengthen support for women and girls in humanitarian settings, and respond to the growing influence of anti-rights narratives online and offline.
At FP2030’s SRHR Narrative Change Lab, advocates and partners explored how to counter misinformation, build stronger public narratives, and turn conversation into action.
Women Deliver 2026 was a reminder that advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights takes collective action, bold leadership, and sustained commitment.
