CET Academic Programs is a study abroad organization that has been developing and operating innovative educational programs abroad since 1982. Originally “China Educational Tours,” CET began operations in Beijing, and today offers a varied portfolio of semester, summer, and customized programs for students around the world. Known for strong academics, professional program management, and supportive student services, CET strives to integrate participants into their host communities, adopt environmentally conscientious practices, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all programs and operations.

Ever wonder how a city tackles issues like sustainability and community impact? 🇧🇷🌎
As part of the Traveling Seminar, students meet with the people behind some of Salvador’s key public initiatives, gaining insight into how local policies are developed and shaped by community needs.
One stop on the seminar is SECIS (Secretaria de Sustentabilidade, Resiliência, Bem-Estar e Proteção Animal de Salvador), the municipal office leading efforts in sustainability, environmental protection, and animal welfare. Students gain firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities involved in creating programs that serve the city and its residents.
One of the most valuable parts of the experience is the opportunity to engage in conversations with representatives and better understand how policies move from ideas to real-world impact!
What better way to get to know than through the eyes of someone who calls it home? 👀

Every semester comes with its own adventures and challenges. Here's a glimpse into what our Fall 2026 students have been experiencing 🌏✨:

This cohort has embraced every part of the study abroad experience. Despite navigating an earthquake early in the semester, they've remained curious, resilient, and engaged as they settle into life in Cali.

Shinsekai has officially become the new group photo spot for our students in Osaka!
One unique feature of ? The opportunity to pair Japanese language study with a studio art courses taught exclusively for CET students 🎨🇯🇵

🖌️ Character Design in Japanese Context
Learn the fundamentals of Japanese-style character design while drawing inspiration from visits to local parks, shrines, and other cultural sites.
✍️ Manga Creation in Japanese Context
Learn the art of visual storytelling while exploring Japan's manga culture firsthand, including a visit to a manga museum in Kyoto.

What happens when you put a group of students, samba, and a whole lot of instruments together?
You get a ! 🥁🎶
During orientation at , students got to experience this high-energy Brazilian tradition firsthand—and even try playing it themselves at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC). For Isabella Moss (Oberlin College student), this was one of her highlights so far in São Paulo:
"In stations, we learned how to play the surdo (bass drum), chocalho (shakers), caixa (snare drum), and tamborim (small frame drum). We not only learned new skills, but we made some friends at PUC as well!"
