The result is awesome, but the story of how I got here is even cooler.

I arrived a week early to handle the time change and environment.

I was in the pool when I saw players battling in the dinner, so I immediately went upstairs, showered, and ran back out to play. 🏃‍♂️💨

I spotted a Master player not playing anyone and asked if he wanted to battle.

He looked super surprised and said, “You want to play me?” 🤨

I said, “Yes, why not?” 😎

He asked what I wanted to play against since they had “all the decks.”

I said Venusaur, (because that’s my weakness.)

Immediately, everyone else around us started laughing.

But he didn’t.

He just looked at me with a serious smirk and said, “I don’t have Venusaur, but I don’t think you need to worry about Venusaur at all.”

That moment stuck with me.

While everyone else laughed, he was already analyzing the meta.

I played his Gholdengo instead… and I actually WON. 🏆

Right after the match, a guy walked up to him, looked at me, and asked him:
“Who is he? Do you know him? How was he able to defeat you?”

He just looked at his cards and joked, “Man, I didn’t like this deck anyway…” 😂

The next morning, I’m waiting for the elevator and who walks out of the room across from me?

The same guy.

We ride down together, chatting, and when the doors open, someone immediately asks to take a picture with him.

It was Marco Cifuentes. 🤯

I had just challenged and beaten a legend without knowing it!

I practiced with him and Fernando all week.

Watching them… studying them…learning combos…

They were incredibly humble and their advice helped me secure 280 Points, a booster box, and the Top 8 Mega Gengar Playmat! 👻

The irony?

In my second match of the tournament…

I lost to VENUSAUR.

Just my luck!

Marco said not to worry, but the universe had other plans. 😂

Today is the day Champion Dreams comes out and my heart feels like it is jumping out of my chest in the best way ever. I practiced and pushed and believed so hard and now it is real. I can finally show everyone the battles I fought and the moments that made me stronger.

I am so happy I get to share this with everyone who cheered for me even when I got nervous or messed up a little. Champion Dreams is not just a release for me. It is my story and my feelings and the way I kept going even when it felt tough.

Thank you for waiting for this with me. I hope when you see it you can feel the same fire I felt when I made it.
