I recently had the opportunity to meet with the NASA Crew 11 astronauts, Zena Cardman, Mike Fincke, and Kimiya Yui (JAXA). It was especially meaningful to connect with Ms. Cardman, who grew up in the First District. Congratulations to all of the NASA Crew 11 astronauts on a successful mission.

Congratulations to Glen Allen student, Sanaya Bothra, on earning the 2026 Congressional Gold Medal Award — the highest honor Congress presents to America’s youth. Through hundreds of hours of community service, scientific research, physical fitness, and international exploration, Sanaya has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to serving others. It was an honor to recognize her outstanding achievement and celebrate her contributions to our community.

Recently, announced a $5.8 million investment in a Williamsburg brewery, which will help strengthen Virginia’s manufacturing footprint, expand workforce training opportunities, and support employment opportunities in the region.

Last year, I visited the Anheuser-Busch facility in Williamsburg to see firsthand the impact they have on the community and to learn about their manufacturing operation. Proud to see Anheuser-Busch continuing to grow in the Williamsburg community and strengthen the future of the Commonwealth!

On this 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we honor the brave Americans and Allied forces who landed on the beaches of Normandy and helped secure victory in World War II. Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to freedom changed the course of history.

Earlier this year, Virginia’s farmers experienced severe freeze events that resulted in millions of dollars in crop losses and placed a significant strain on farm families and rural communities. I was proud to lead a letter in support of Virginia’s request for disaster designation so that producers can access the resources and relief they need to recover. Read it here:

I visited Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg as part of America’s 250th celebration. Founded in 1674, this historic church welcomed leaders like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Patrick Henry during the founding of our nation. It remains a powerful reminder of America’s enduring history and values.

This year’s NDAA strengthens our national defense by revitalizing our defense industrial base, restoring the lethality of our military, improving servicemembers’ quality of life, and strengthening our ability to deter our adversaries. I was proud to vote in favor of the committee’s passage of the NDAA of Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27). Read my press release here:
