Jamboree was one for the books! We had a blast celebrating elementary school poet-athletes at our annual soccer tournament and community festival! 💙😇

Poet-athletes just returned from the Street Child World Cup in Mexico City, where they embodied the very best of SCORES, their city, and their nation.

They created art representing how young people overcome barriers to thrive. They sat in dialogue with peers from 22 countries to demand a hopeful future. They built friendships that crossed every border. 🌎🌏🌍

SCORES uses soccer, the arts, and service to show young people that we all succeed when our communities are strong — and this week, our poet-athletes showed exactly that. 🎤⚽️🙌

The 🌎’s international pros may not be Stateside until next month, but World Cup magic is happening right now for DC SCORES poet-athletes, and we want you to be part of it!

10 poet-athletes from D.C. are currently representing the USA in the World Cup in Mexico City. To get them to the tournament, DC SCORES covered the cost of airfare, transportation, and participation. Now, we’re asking you to help us offset that cost in a difficult budget year.

Congress & Arts Day at 🌎🎨⚽

Yesterday’s activity challenged delegates to create a flag representing their advocacy and positive representation.

SCORES poet-athletes chose to focus on breaking the chains of barriers.

The handprints on the flag symbolize young people breaking through obstacles and standing together for change. 🇺🇸
