chicken tortilla soup - one for me & one for you

soup may be one of my all time favorite meals, i could eat it anytime, anywhere and i know it will bring me joy. chicken tortilla is at the very top of my list of favorites, possibly because of the endless topping options, probably because it’s always made for me by the best chefs - my mom and my boyfriend, what more can you want?!

patrick’s topping (in favorite order):

tortilla strips • avocado • whole fat sour cream • radishes • lime • cheese • onion • cilantro

OH and never forget the texas toast!

caramelle: stuffed pasta shaped like candies

these caramelle are filled with the delicious combination of ricotta, red chard, red cabbage, & sautéed onion. after cooking them in boiling water i like to serve these delicious little packages in a parmesan bechamel sauce with a little parsley on top but a garlicky brown butter sauce would also be delicious!

it’s going to be cold and wet here in DC, i’m thinking some type of soup. i also have some leftover shrimp & lobster raviolis from nye in the freezer, maybe a spicy tomato sauce instead of a cream sauce like i made last weekend?

The perfect lunch for a Monday, this lasagna I got A.Litteri yesterday made by Casa di Pasta up in Baltimore had me feeling like Garfield and ready for a pasta nap.
