In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

Four perpetrators involved in the tragic Pentecost Sunday attack in Owo, Nigeria, which claimed the lives of 41 innocent worshipers, have finally been convicted.
The court has officially handed down guilty verdicts to four key defendants responsible for the gruesome massacre. The tragedy unfolded when armed assailants stormed a church while dozens of parishioners were peacefully attending Sunday mass. The brutal attack resulted in the deaths of at least 41 worshipers and left many others severely injured.
At the time, the incident sparked widespread shock and outrage across the international community, as the militants indiscriminately targeted defenseless civilians, including the elderly and children, using fi****ms and explosives.
This conviction holds significant meaning as it establishes strict legal accountability for extremist violence fueled by religious hatred. While local human rights organizations and religious groups note that the ruling cannot fully heal the deep wounds of the victims and their bereaved families, it is widely regarded as a crucial first step toward delivering long-delayed justice.
As religious persecution and terror continue to threaten communities worldwide, this verdict renews urgent calls for global solidarity to protect minority believers and ensure the safety of places of worship.

“This is what the Lord says: ‘You say about this place, “It is a desolate waste, without people or animals.” Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once more the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying, “Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his love endures forever.” For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord.(Jeremiah 33:10-11 NIV)

Romans 6:23 reminds us about the true cost of sin. In our daily life, we are used to getting exactly what we earn and paying for our mistakes. When we choose to live independently from God, chasing our own desires and acting as our own authority, that sin naturally leads straight to spiritual death and permanent separation from Him. It is the heavy and inevitable result of carrying our own burdens and answering for our own failures.
However, the entire picture changes when God steps in with a gift. This gift is not a vague concept or an abstract reward; it is wrapped up entirely in a person. Eternal life is found exclusively in Christ Jesus. It means that our hope, our security, and our peace are tied directly to our bond with Him. Instead of leaving us to struggle under the weight of our past, Jesus opens the door for us to be close to the Father. Because we belong to Him, we are fully welcomed, loved, and secure in God's eyes, and His victory over death becomes our victory. This gives us a confident hope that can never be shaken.
