Crossed the line in 59:59 at the HYROX Americas Regional Championship in DC last weekend, winning the old man division by 7 seconds. Unfortunately, four hours after the event I learned that I “no repped” the final wall ball and received a 15sec penalty. Now that’s a hard lesson learned! 😂 Thankfully I’m not doing sport for money anymore and can laugh that one off. Still, I’m very proud to finish 7th OA in a regional championship event against athletes much younger and stronger.
Shout out to my amazingly beautiful, and very pregnant, wife for putting up with my return to racing. It’s been a very personal journey after feeling like my professional triathlon career ended before I truly got the closure I wanted.
