Huge thanks to & City Paper for the spotlight on our Beverage Director/ Partner, Greg Engert (), and our beer programs across DC - Bluejacket, ChurchKey, The Sovereign & Shelter!

Check out the kind words from DC City Paper's Best of DC 2026 Editor's Pick below and at link in bio:

Best Beer Connoisseur Whose Beers You Definitely Want to Drink: Greg Engert

"My tolerance for “shopping” is low so I tend to avoid Georgetown, but I will go out of my way to venture there for the Sovereign, which features 50 drafts, more than 350 bottles, and a curated list of delicious Belgian beers that are otherwise hard to find. Greg Engert, a partner and beverage director at the Sovereign, ChurchKey, and Bluejacket Brewery, is behind the excellent selection at these bars. My friends and I watched the first U.S. match of the World Cup at ChurchKey: The vibes were positive, the service was top-notch, and they offered discounted beers. Engert is a fan of my band’s label (Slumberland Records); he collaborated with Ocelot Brewing on a special edition in the label’s honor (which Ocelet describes as “a modern hazy IPA given an out-of-time quality in tribute to Slumberland by blending old-school and new-school hops”), helped organize the tribute party, and is just a lovely person. The beers he curates and helps make across these spots are all amazing and well worth the trip." —Matthew Dingee, Lorelei

THE ANSWER AT CHURCHKEY: BLUEJACKET COLLABORATION RELEASE + TAP TAKEOVER + CAN & CROWLER DROP!
Thursday, June 11th | 4:00 PM - Close

Join ChurchKey on Thursday, June 11th, as we host founder An Bui and his team from The Answer Brewpub for a special event. On this night, we will feature at least 10 beers from this renowned brewery from Richmond, VA, including a new collaboration with Bluejacket, plus 3 collaborative food specials!

Founder An Bui opened The Answer in 2014, in part because of the success of its sibling establishment, Mekong, a Vietnamese restaurant and beer bar that had earned national acclaim. Their fruited sour ales, stouts, and hazy IPAs continue to be some of the most sought-after on the East Coast, and their small-batch production means it’s incredibly hard to try them outside of Richmond.

Recently, the crew from Bluejacket (including our very own Greg Engert) visited The Answer, where they collaborated on a new Hazy Double IPA called An-Gert Management. Don’t miss your chance to try this special new beer at ChurchKey, alongside a slew of new beers from The Answer, including fruited sour ales and stouts that rarely leave the taproom.

There is no admission fee for this event. All featured beers will be available a la carte.

THE FEATURED DRAFT LIST
- An-Gert Management (Hazy Double IPA; Bluejacket Collab.)
- Kupala Night (Baltic Porter w/ Swiss Chocolate & Almond Coffee Beans)
- Ležák (Czech Pilsner)
- Profanity Prayers (Hazy Double IPA w/ Citra & Galaxy)
- Stooby Radler (Pale Lager w/ Prickly Pear, Meyer Lemon & Pink Guava)
- Unfamiliar Sheep (Hazy Double IPA w/ Citra)
- Joose Variant (TBD)
- Stout Variant (TBD)

THE FEATURED CAN LIST
