Take a look at what SAGE - Summer of Applied Geophysical Experience participants are up to!

We're excited to partner with SAGE - Summer of Applied Geophysical Experience this year for !

SAGE offers a one-of-a-kind summer geophysics field program for students and early career professionals. Participants will learn all about how geophysics is done in real life, with real equipment! Stay tuned to learn more about what they're up to, and what geophysical tools they're using to answer novel geoscience research questions.

is officially underway!

We kicked off the program in Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA with student introductions—sharing what we're excited about, what makes us a little nervous, and something others might not know about us.

This year's cohort is already proving to be an incredible group of individuals—including artists, musicians, a Red Cross disaster relief volunteer, an identical twin, and so much more.

We're excited to see how these unique experiences and perspectives come together over the coming weeks as students learn, collaborate, and grow through SAGE.

Welcome, Class of 2026!

The deadline is approaching to submit your application to attend the 2026 Near-Surface Geophysics Community Input Workshop!

The NSG workshop will be held August 25 & 26 in Albuquerque, NM and aims to bring the community together to shape future science support and collaboration. Sponsored by the NSF National Geophysical Facility (NSF NGF, operated by EarthScope), the workshop is jointly planned by multiple organizations involved in near-surface geophysics (NSF NGF, CTEMPs, OpenTopography, NHERI, CUAHSI, and AGU Near-surface Geophysics Section).

The 2026 Seismology Skill Building Workshop (SSBW) kicked off on June 8 with 1,592 registrants from 110 countries! Designed for students and recent graduates, participants attend weekly live webinars, complete hands-on assignments, and step through learning modules designed to enhance scientific computing skills in seismology.

Glacial quakes track retreat of Alaska’s Columbia Glacier | EarthScope Consortium 06/11/2026

As Alaska's Columbia Glacier launches icebergs into the sea, seismometers record the action of the ice crashing into the water. Looking at the data over time, you can see how the glacier is retreating.
