Perfect way to end the day

Summer of 1982 spent trying to photograph Israeli’s never ending war with its neighbors without getting killed. My editor told me I would be there for four days which turned into two months. When I was interrogated by the Marines as to what I was doing there I said “waiting for you!” Sharon was leading the ongoing war at the time and seems mild in comparison to Netanyahu. That we support them as our “proxy”(lame moral reasoning), this latest venture is disgraceful and will prove disastrous.

Marines landing as peacekeepers in Beirut 1982 only to be car bombed a couple of months later. I also got to document thei arrival of their bodies at Dover, Delaware airbase. Israel is one of those hard enemies and even harder friends. With Taco thinking he’s MacArthur. I’m not optimistic about this venture.
