Early morning on the Potomac River. Doing some lens and color tests. Shot on Alexa35X on Vespid2. 4300K 1600ISO. Loving the ARRICORE codec.

Patient story shoot. My amazing director/producer Kerith Lemon opted for an outside overlooking the woods that are the setting for the story being told. Key was a 600x into an 8x8 of Full Grid. Edge was natural. Acam was FX9 w/ FX3 as Bcam on a motorized slider.

Interviews in tight spaces but still trying to create some depth. It’s been a busy summer. Haven’t had time to post much lately. .lighting

Flashing back to another frame from ‘Ovation’. Growing up my mom always loved candles and it strikes me why I love shots like this so much. Something about watching the flames dance and how fire moves, even in small amounts.

When you take over the top floor of a small coffee shop to shoot a drug laiden cult ritual. Given the right space we blocked it to make use of practicals, a window, and augmented with .lighting and tubes.

Spent the day in Manhattan at the wonderful Baza Studio shooting for Beverly Boy Productions. Wonderful location with great client on site.

Two camera setup with the FS7 running A-cam. The Aputure 300d2 and 2 Astra 6Xs doing the brunt of the lighting. Would love to have been able to do more but running solo today.

That said, parked a cargo van in front of the door to loadin, never had to move the truck. Feeling like I should go buy a lottery ticket! That’s a massive win anywhere in NYC.

Going through some archival stuff and pulling interview setups. I shot this for Southern Living when L'Opossum was named best Restaurant in Richmond, VA in their 2018 survey. Chef David Shannon runs a unique and excellent restaurant. If you are ever down there I highly recommend checking it out.

A full days travel halfway around the world. 3 flights starting in ice and snow. A long dirt road as the light is fading. Finally, rounding the corner of a concrete garage this was the sight before me…Stunning.
