She Should Run

The waitlist made the case. Women kept raising their hands from every corner of the country, ready to step up in their communities but without a structure that fit their lives right now. We could not make them wait until fall.

So we built something faster. The Local Leader Lab Summer cohort is six weeks, Wednesdays, 7:00 to 8:30 pm ET, July 1 through August 5.
No prior experience. No finished plan. Just the belief that something needs to change where you live, and the willingness to figure out your role in that.

One year later. Very little change. Women hold 32.7% of local offices nationwide, up from 32.4% in 2025. But the number that really tells the story: the gap between the best and worst states is nearly 30 points. Where you live still shapes whether women lead.
