Six years later, we still carry the weight of that moment. Not just the loss of George Floyd, but the responsibility to build something better because of it.

Dr. Gina Merritt founded Project Community Capital in response to a tragedy that shook the world, with a mission rooted in opportunity, dignity, and investment in communities too often overlooked. At 9410 Hough, that mission lives on through spaces created for connection, growth, and hope, including the George Floyd Community Room.

His death will never be forgotten. And through the work being done every day, his life and impact will never be without purpose.

Today, May 25, marks six years since the death of George Floyd. We remember him and recommit ourselves to the work of equity, community, and lasting change.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. At Project Community Capital, Memorial Day is also a reminder of the importance of service, sacrifice, and community.

We remember those who gave everything and remain committed to building stronger communities, creating opportunities, and uplifting families in honor of the freedoms they fought to protect.

May we never forget their courage.
