The BMS Program began in 1994 to improve care and outcomes for individuals with burn injuries. There are 4 BMS centers funded.

BMS centers conduct research and contribute follow-up data to the BMS National Longitudinal Database. BMS centers also conduct research, provide education, and disseminate information with the goal of improving long-term functional, vocational, cognitive, and quality-of-life outcomes

Meet Sarah Conner, an MSKTC Burn Ambassador from Texas and a passionate advocate for burn survivors. After experiencing a severe burn injury in 2011, Sarah turned her journey into purpose. She now facilitates hospital support groups, collaborates with trauma nurses, and ensures burn survivors receive vital MSKTC resources that support emotional and physical recovery.
