Wrapping up the month of May for The New Rainbow Color School, we have three talented women who aren't shy when it comes to using bold colors in their art. Their vibrant works–layered with symbolism and depth–are not only eye-catching, but also tell a story that transcends generations.

--About the Artist--
John Morrell (1951-2025) was known as a painter of places, ranging between majestic landscapes chronicling his familiar places and renderings of more intimate corners of the world he observed. He attributes some of his inspiration from his connection to Upstate New York and the Hudson River Valley, but also from travel to Maine, England and France, as well as from the Washington DC region in particular the Georgetown neighborhood. His mastery of technique in an array of historical as well as newer media allowed him to conjure a strong sense of space, light, and personal experience. His later work explored glimpses between buildings, behind hedges, or over a fence or garden gate., He once remarked “I am often drawn to what I cannot see.”
