Prayers Beneath the Noise
2026
52" x 40"
Acrylic, Oil Pastels, Mix Media on Unstretched Canvas
This piece holds a quiet, intimate moment inside a world that feels anything but quiet. At the center, two figures kneel in prayer, hands raised in devotion, their expressions calm and focused despite the chaos surrounding them. Their connection feels grounded—shared faith, shared hope, shared stillness.
Around them, the environment tells a different story. Bright, saturated color collides across the surface, layered with symbols of conflict and contradiction—a tank above, drifting doves, fragments of text, and bursts of pattern that feel both celebratory and disruptive. The phrase “In a field of roses, be a wildflower” sits like a whisper of individuality within the noise.
The tension between peace and unrest is what drives the work. The figures are not removed from the world—they exist within it, choosing prayer, reflection, and inner grounding as an act of resistance. The doves suggest hope and spirit, while the presence of war imagery reminds us of what that hope is up against.
Prayers Beneath the Noise speaks to the power of stillness in turbulent spaces—the idea that faith, love, and connection can remain intact even when everything around them feels uncertain or loud.

Seeing Through the Noise
2026
30" x 40"
Acrylic, Oil Pastel on Unstretched Canvas
This piece moves with a rhythm you can almost feel—steady, insistent, alive. The figure stands at the center like a heartbeat made visible, surrounded by waves of saturated color that seem to vibrate outward. Pride here isn’t quiet or decorative; it’s foundational. It’s the pulse that keeps everything in motion.
The spray-painted cross stencils over the eyes create a layered tension—part shield, part signal. They suggest both protection and interruption, hinting at the ways identity is shaped under pressure, yet never fully silenced. Even without clear sight, the figure radiates awareness, presence, and control.
The handwritten words across the chest ground the piece in declaration, while the drips and raw textures give it a sense of urgency—like something that had to be said, had to be seen. The surrounding colors—bold yellows, deep blues, electric purples—carry both joy and intensity, echoing a lived experience that is complex, resilient, and expressive.
Pride Is the Pulse speaks to identity as something that cannot be muted or removed. It lives in the body, in the voice, in the way one stands and takes up space. It is constant, sustaining, and undeniable.

What Falls Can Still Grow
2026
30" x 40"
Acrylic, Oil Pastel on Unstretched Canvas
This piece reimagines descent—not as loss, but as transformation—now grounded in history and legacy. A Tuskegee-inspired aircraft moves across the sky, referencing the Tuskegee Airmen, whose service reshaped what was possible in the face of exclusion and adversity. Here, the plane does not carry destruction. Instead, it releases a cascade of flowers—an offering, a rewriting.
The contrast is intentional: a symbol of war transformed into a vessel of growth. The muted strength of the aircraft gives way to an explosion of color—each bloom representing resilience, dignity, and the power to redefine purpose. What once marked conflict becomes a gesture of renewal.
The open sky creates space for this shift, while the layered florals below feel like history taking root—beauty emerging from struggle, legacy turning into life. The work honors not only the past, but the act of reinterpretation itself: choosing to see power not just in force, but in what can be created afterward.
What Falls Can Still Grow becomes a meditation on legacy—how even within systems built for harm, there exists the potential to carry something forward that heals, expands, and blooms.
